Acrylic work inspired by Slauson Avenue in Los Angeles and bringing together elements of place, history, and imagination.
The composition combines Egyptian-inspired figures and symbols with architectural forms, vegetation, and the Slauson Avenue street sign. I used warm earth tones, gold, turquoise, and dark leafy patterns to connect the different elements throughout the painting.
The work reflects my personal interpretation of the cultural layers, people, and history that can become associated with a place over time.
