“Memorial”

“Memorial” is an acrylic abstract painting on an art panel.
The composition is built around a stacked, monument-like form in deep reds, gray, black, and touches of orange. Strong geometric shapes overlap and rise vertically, while the irregular lines and textured ground give the structure a weathered, almost fragmented quality.
I created the piece around the idea of a memorial as something assembled from layers of memory. The forms suggest pieces placed one upon another, representing how memories can remain with us even as time changes the way we see and remember them.
